Effective classroom management is essential for creating a productive learning environment. This guide will help you set up and manage your virtual coding classroom.
Creating Classes
Creating a New Class

Navigate to Classes
- From your organization management section, click on "Classes" tab
- Click the "Create Class" button

Configure Class Settings
- Class Name: Enter a descriptive name for your class
- Assistant Settings: Choose whether to enable the virtual assistant for this class
- Progression Settings: Decide if students must complete levels sequentially (recommended for beginners)
- Quiz Settings: Configure if and how quizzes will be used in the class

Finalize Creation
- Click "Create" to save your new class
Managing Existing Classes
- Edit Class: Click on the class name, then select "Edit" to modify settings
- Delete Class: Only use this option if you're certain you no longer need the class data, as all associated student progress will be deleted
Managing Students
Adding Students to Your Class
Individual Student Addition
- Navigate to your class page
- Click "Add Student"
- Fill in the required information:
- First name
- Last name
- Username
- Password
- Age (optional)
- Click "Add"
Bulk Student Addition
- Navigate to your class page
- Click "Import CSV"
- Prepare a CSV file with student information
- Upload your completed CSV file
- Review the student accounts to be created
- Confirm the import
Student Account Management
- Reset Password: If a student forgets their password, you can reset it from their profile page
- Edit Student Information: Update student details as needed
- View Student Progress: Access detailed progress reports from the student profile
Transferring Students Between Classes
- From your dashboard, go to "Students"
- Select the students you wish to transfer
- Click "Transfer Selected"
- Choose the destination class
- Confirm the transfer
Tracking Progress
Class-Level Progress Tracking
- Progress Overview: View aggregate completion statistics for the entire class
- Chapter Breakdown: See how students are progressing through each chapter
- Time Analysis: Track average time spent on different activities
Individual Student Progress
- Level Completion: Monitor which levels each student has completed
- Challenge Results: Review performance on coding challenges
- Code History: Access previous code submissions to understand student thinking
Reports and Analytics
- Generate Reports: Create customized reports on class or student progress
- Export Data: Download progress data for offline analysis or record-keeping
- Identify Trends: Spot patterns in student performance to adjust your teaching

- No Skip Mode: Require students to complete levels sequentially
- Assistant Limitations: Configure how many times students can use the virtual assistant
- Quiz Requirements: Set minimum passing scores for quizzes

- Regular Monitoring: Check class progress at least weekly
- Incremental Introduction: Start with basic features and gradually introduce more advanced platform capabilities
- Balanced Groups: For pair programming, create balanced teams based on progress and skill level

- Consistent Feedback: Provide regular feedback on student progress and code quality
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Student Login Problems: Verify username and reset password if necessary
- Progress Not Updating: Refresh browser or check for platform notifications
- Code Execution Errors: Check student code for syntax errors or refresh the page
